Tuesday Prayer:
O God, I desire that all people everywhere—all children, all men and women, all families and tribes and cities and nations, all lost and lonely ones—should know your love and live your peace. I worship you, blessed Jesus, Prince of Peace. May justice, mercy, and truth come quickly in the fullness of your kingdom, I pray. Help me this day, blessed Spirit, to walk in your love and peace and expectation. Amen.

[When at last] God hath brought to light all the hidden things of darkness, whosoever were the actors therein, [it will] be seen that wise and good were all his ways; that he “saw through the thick cloud,” and governed all things by the wise “counsel of his own will”; that nothing was left to chance or the caprice of men, but God disposed all “strongly and sweetly,” and wrought all into one connected chain of justice, mercy, and truth. — John Wesley, Sermon 15, “The Great Assize,” Works, 1:365
